WHY?
Kids can name off the top of their heads a thousand or more brands but they don’t know the names of 10 plants or birds from their own country. “How great would it be for locals and visitors to be able to identify indigenous species of plants and birds native to their country and understand their benefits?
This was quoted by Leonard DiCaprio who is an advocate for the environment.
When I heard, I thought 'yeah', kiwi kids don't know enough about our native flora and fauna. This got me thinking more about how could we encourage them to learn more in a fun, amazing way. Hence the concept of Native Garden Maze!
